I'm currently managing in Norway in the lower reaches and it's great fun. Although I can't comment too much on attracting players from the UK (as I'm not in the top flight yet), It's not too easy to attract the better players tbh - that's judging by my experiences from FM07.
Who needs UK players anyway? Norwegian players are plenty good enough.
I was going to say that...why bother buying players from the UK? Scandinavia is well known for being a hotbed for talent and if you're in one of the top divisions then they're bound to sign for you.
I managed Elfsborg in FM07 and it was great fun. Didn't sign any Brits to my recollection. Brazilians (from the smaller teams) seem happy to sign though.
thanks, might try a game as IFK Goteborg they shouldnt have a problem attracting players should they, what are the clubs finances like any decent money to spend!?
I've had succesful stints in Denmark, Sweden and Norway this year. I very much enjoy playing the Scandinavian leagues, although it can be hard keeping hold of your good players.

Exactly. You get some decent youth in, they play a season or two and the EPL/Italian/Spanish clubs are at your door.
I definitely enjoy playing in the Norwegian bottom division.

Which is also very realistic. If a young-ish player plays well he's gone the next season, even if the club wins the league. In most cases anyway.
One good example is my club IFK Göteborg this season. Little more than halfway through the season the league top scorer Marcus Berg (14 goals in 17 games) leave for Holland. Amazingly enough it didn't matter in the end; the coaches converted a Robbie Savage-like youngster in the team into Filippo Inzaghi Mk II and won the league anyway Can't do that on FM tho.

IRL that isn't the depressing part though, as I wouldn't blame anyone for wanting to move to those leagues. What's depressing is that players would rather go to Switzerland, Austria, Greece, Denmark, Norway or the second tiers of England/Italy/Spain/Holland/Germany than stay in Sweden.
