I have just finished my 3rd season and now my game is running VERY slow, I understand that as time goes on it will slow down due to the size of the file but it's like it freezes for a few mins and then does everything at once within 4/5 seconds, is this normal or is it a genuine problem, thanx for any help
There are temporary files you can delete that may help, although I've completely forgotten where they're stored. Think they're *.tmp files but someone else will have to enlighten you!
You're welcome. If that doesn't sort it out try this:
Step One: Open "My Computer", RIGHT click on the C drive icon, choose "Properties".
Step Two: When that loads, click on the "Tools" tab, then click on the "Check Now" button in the "Error Checking" section.
Step Three: When that little window loads, place a CHECK in BOTH boxes, then click on "Start Now".
Step Four: A message will pop up saying that Error Checking will run after you restart the computer, so......Restart the computer. Error Checking will run automatically after the restart and it locks you out from doing anything until it's finished. It takes a little time to perform the task but after it's finished, it will restart into Windows automatically.
Another possibility is if you are using Vista then having quite a few things in the sidebar can slow the computer down a lot. This caused FM to go really slowly.
If you go to task manager, on vista you go to Ctr+Alt+Del and then go to task manager(cant remember for XP) you can see if there are any processes slowing everything down.

Hope this helps
Ctrl Alt Del for XP as well. It'll pop up the task manager automatically
Another thing to try - and i know its normally the first thing support technicians tell you - is to defrag your hard drive.
Or even better, get a freeware program that allows you to defrag specific folders, that will speed things up no end.
Also, unticking the "save compressed" will help alot when you get further into the game - if its uncompressed it doesn;t have to work to read it so much.
 also - kill as much as you can in vista. It runs so many processes its untrue - My XP machine runs 32 processes when it boots up. Add MSN, Music, FM, Firefox and maybe MiniScout/FMM, thats 36/37.
My gf's laptop with Vista Home BASIC was running 65(!!) Microsoft Processes, thats without including her anti-virus, msn, anti-spyware..there's no wonder vista is so damn slow.
