What is wrong with my tactic?

Is there any FM expert around here who can give me suggestions on how to improve my current tactic?

DEATILS as followed:

mentality: 13

i intend to play slow tempo with possession football... esp in the dutch league... but so far its been disappointing

i conceded many goals from crosses on both sides... is it something to do with the tactic? or my fullbacks (Kromkamp and Zonneveld)

i also deploy a target man... but it seems he dun get enough ball from the midfield...

just wondering if pushing the defensive line further forward will help my team to create more chances?

trying one striker and hold the ball up, may work, and play coutner attacking football
