Ex referee Graham Poll has said John Terry should be stripped of the England captaincy until such time as he is more respectful to referees.
Is he right ? Should John Terry be stripped of the captaincy ? Was he the right choice in the first place or should it have been Gerrard ? And can Gerrard and Lampard play together ?.
The last point is relevant because the captain should be the first name on the sheet and if the opinion is Gerrard should be captain, then whether he and Lampard can play in the same team becomes of crucial importance.
Yes, Terry is a loud mouth abusive player that has spent many a season being rewarded by chelski for the way he influences decisions. Just watch the next interview he does and compare it with Gerrard. Gerrard is one of the most respectful players I've ever seen and is probably one of the most inspiring captains ever... he lead a mediocre team to win the champs league, where as terry has a team full of class in front of him... Also it makes so much sense for the captain to sit in the center of the game, he can talk to everyone and as he would have a constant involvement in all moves, defensive and offensive players can always see the example he sets. Terry was only selected because chelski were champions.
