Yeah, I think it's fun developing your team with youngsters you've nurtured yourself. It's more satisfying than buying the worlds best players even though you could - I've got a £200 mio transferbudget right now, but no need for spending them
I've used 9 mio (5.5 first season, 3.5 second season, 0 3rd season) so far in my carreer

Hmm, I've made my own training schedules - nothing fancy just made some who looks logical - and then ofcourse some good coaches.
Also I use older players to tutor the younger ones - just remember that it's important who you choose. I usually look at their description, e.g. if it says "similar player to Rio Ferdinand" I try to have him tutored by Rio.
One last thing is that I give my youngsters relatively much firstteam football. Ofcourse the League Cup is "their" cup, but also some League, F.A. Cup and Champions Cup games I let some hot prospects play.
Actually I've found that it can have a positive effect having some young players who are fighting for a place in the first team, fight their heart out in a home game against Sunderland rather than having your (sometimes lazy) stars play those games.
