in the very last champ manager before the switch over went to football manager, i managed to sell a regen winger i bought off 'boro, to milan for £100m up front plus another £100m depending on games and stuff, Can't quite remember the exact details, but i took a screen shot and i only wish i still had it.

Mate, honestly managaning Palermo is the most enjoyable way to start your FM 2008 adventure.. You have a defensively strong midtable team, probably one of the strongest defences in the game. And with a right tactic, you can create wonders. And with less pressure unlike with other big teams, Milan ,Barca , Chelsea etc.. because of less expectations..

They give you about 15 million dollars for top half finish, increasing with your aims.. So not so much money but still enough to get Banega, Piatti, Grosicki, Dia, Breno ... But i suggest you not to sell Barzagli or Amauri in your first season.. After one year, they become really expensive... and you have a real gem of player, Cavani...

So, to sum up, i think Palermo is a good, little strong team to start with..

I think that players prices are way unrealistic in fm08. For example, Arsenal would be prepared to offload Persie for no less than 126m. Also, first 50 players or so you cannot buy for less than 100m GBP.
