Yes, use the tactic I use.

There's no such thing in FM as a perfect tactic I don't think, but there's definitely tactics that increase your team's performance. I use a modified version of a good PC version tactic I found on the-dugout.net a few weeks back at the mo.

As soon as I find ways round 2 problems (1. A way to take a pic of a TV screen without a 'flash' on the screen and 2. Finding a decent, free site to host them on), I'll post my tactics up for the 360 version.

What's your current lineup/formation?

I tend to tell my DC's to stay the Hell back at all times for ther inevitable **** up by my Pompey midfield. So I certainly agree, sort out the back 4 first, especially the DC's!

*has a look at Charlton*

Luke Young looks one of the better players in the squad judging from his stats and Rommedhal's pace is always an asset. Though I must admit the team as a whole isn't massively creative. I'd try invest in some tough yet creative midfield types and a decent defender or 2 if you have the cash. It depends on how much cash you have as to what you do.

I'll post links to the formation I'm using in a min if I can so you people can copy it and see how it does for them.

dunno if charlton are any good, but i won with rangers pretty easy, even beat man utd 4-0 in a friendly and got pretty far in the uefa cup, to score play an attacking formation, start with 4-4-2 diamond attacking, tweak it a bit, i play with the same tactic i've used for years and it still works great

i've got owen up front. that seems to help. If you play counterattacking and have a fast striker up front he scores loads. you get these long balls he runs onto (i'm playing short passing?) when he's the only guy in the opposition half and he just keeps running and puts it past the keeper. don't ever rely on a defence with boumsong in the centre of it though.

I should have added that I play owen with no closing down and totally attacking mentality. Set a single fast striker (darren bent?) as a target man and have team target man instructions to run onto ball as he doesnt have the strength to hold anyone off and his headings a bit rubbish, except when he's in front of goal.
