We are trying to track down the cause of the problems some people are having playing FM 2006 online on Xbox Live. If you could answer the following questions it would be helpful for us in trying to resolve this issue as soon as possible.
1) Have you had this problem multiple times or just once?
(ie what percentage of your games run into this problem)
2) Have you tried to connect on different days of the week?
3) What Modem are you using (make and model)?
4) What Router are you using (make and model)?
5) What Firmware Version is running on your Modem/Router?
6) Have you had this problem with any other XB Live titles?
7) Have you tried Ranked and Player matches - if so, do they both
have this problem occuring?
As I have said, we are trying to track down and resolve this problem and are grateful for your patience.
Scott.
[[Update 1 by Joe, 19th April - People with this problem may want to have a look at The Xbox Networking FAQ. This FAQ has some good explanations, examples and indeed support information about XBox 360 Live 'NAT' information. Several people in this thread have indicated that changing their NAT settings have solved their problems!
We really think that you should consult Microsoft Xbox live support and/or indeed the makers of your internet hardware before making any changes.

Dunno if this really helps but I was having tons of problems and could not connect to anyone's games and even when hosting my own nobody seemed to join.
I was reading around and found an article regarding port forwarding. First of all i checked the "Nat" status under the Xbox Live test option and it said "Strict" so i did the port forwarding via my router (Netgear something or other) and now my "NAT" status is open and I connect to most games without problem and people seem to be able to connect to mine without any problems at all.

wireless is always a pain in the rear. it's what my house is networked by and for the sake of my sanity, thanks to where the phone socket, and as such router, is, i'm buying a 25m ethernet cable so i can wireup the xbox. occasional drops on my PC i can handle. if my xbox was dying during games i'd go mad!
