I did a search but couldn't find anything related specifically to my question.
Why do younger guys retire from their International team at 16 or 17.
I decided to give Rwanda a shot as they don't have many players. So the first year goes by, I only get 4 Regens, fine. Second year I got about 22 all 16 and 17 with a few 18 year olds.
Now I add them to the Under 19 team and after a while about 18 of 22 have decided to retire from Football. I'm not sure if their retirement is specific to International status, or their retiring from Football altogether. I assumed maybe they weren't playing at all because some of them are pretty brutal and don't have a club, thus they retire. But I looked through them and some of them are playing for a small Club in Rwanda.
Anyone want to shed some light on this. Just don't want to continue with Rwanda if all their players get axed, don't particularly want to play with the greys.
