Is this your first FM game? Well no, you can start as an unemployed manager and look for a job, or you can choose any club you like and take over as manager straight away.

if this is your first game at fm series then i think you should start with at a big club like
Man Utd, Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool
Real Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia, Sevilla
Inter, Milan, Juventus, Fiorentina
Bayern Munchen
Lyon
Celtic, Rangers

et, etc

and when you got all the basic knowledge about the game you are free to roam in the managing world trying to start unemployed if you wish

consider this as a difficulty level (although theres no such thing in the game) with big teams it's easier

as has been said you can be any club you want (has to be in a selected league when the game is started)
