I would not decide based 100% on what is written in this forum....Most posts are negative bcse the people that love the game are too busy playing it to go on the site to post things...
Based soley on this forum, one would think that fm 2008 is the worst game of all time...I can ensure you that it is not...this game is flawed but overall it is probably the greatest sports sim game ever created....post patch....
I was like you in that I was not sure if I should get the game then I went on this forum and was really turned of but went ahead and got the game anyway, patched it up and I love it!
