Default To patch or not to patch?

I have an unpatched version of FM2008, and I'm wondering whether I should patch it. At the moment, the only things that bother me are the lack of closing down and the lack of playing advantage.

I've read postsers who seem to be very unhappy with the patches, but there again those posters also seem to be very unhappy with the whole game.

So, on balance, should I patch or not?

In my Opinion the 8.0.1 is the best patch to go with.

You should.

No one notices all of the problems to begin with but there are many and it would make sense to patch so as to prevent the discovering of more problems further down the line. It won't hurt to patch your game so you really might as well.

Personally I can't stand the match engine with the official patch. The rest of the game I enjoy and have no problems with at all, but the 8.0.1 match engine has the potential to truly frustrate and annoy beyond belief.

You can always try each patch (both beta patches, and full patch) and if you don't like them just resinatll FM and backup your save games.

I think you should definitely patch...I just downloaded it and getting ready to install. You would save yourself alot of heartache and mental issues by sorting out these bugs early (i'm trying to salvage a little sanity by doing so). I mean, there's only so many "disallowed goals", "super goalkeepers" and "squad fall outs" a normal man can take without putting their head through their PC monitors!

Patch please!
