I couldn't help laugh at that. There is no way he is on that much money.

He will be on decent wages, Varney is rumoured to be on around £10k to even £22k.
I normally would have said around £4-5k a week, but I've underrated the Charlton wages in the past by a lot.

Bakary Soro is on loan at Germinal Beerschot (another club we are linked with) in Belgium, until he can get a work permit. He signed for Charlton from ASEC. We also had a few ASEC players on trial last summer.
The ASEC website,

There was a page when they agreed the deal, but I can't find it.
Its also on the Charlton website.

The deal with ASEC dovetails neatly with Charlton's CAFC Soccer Belgium set-up in particular, with clubs such as Germinal Beerschot Antwerpen offering the opportunity for players to gain experience in European football and work permits.
Explained Peter: "We make an annual payment to sponsor the ASEC academy so we get first call on their players, and we need to increasingly work to make sure they are placed with other clubs.
"If they can go to Beerschot that's fine and under the terms of our deal they get first call, but if Beerschot can't find a spot in their squad at that time, then we can place them elsewhere as well.”
At the end of the 2006/07 season, one former ASEC player, Soro Bakary, had been placed at Beerschot, while two more, Ismael Beko Fofana and Konan Serge Kouadio, were playing for Norwegian side Fredrikstad. In addition, the club had agreed to place further players at French club Nancy.
You can also use the buttons at the bottom of that page to read about the links with other clubs. </BLOCKQUOTE>
It wouldnt suprise me if they payed him so much wages, as the transfer fee they payed for him was a massively inflated, so why not go the whole hog and give him mega-bucks.
