Few points on Newcastle:

Steve Round joined us from Bolton on the coaching side. Not sure of his exact role.

Steve Harper signed a new contract taking him up to 2009.

James Milner also signed a new deal, which is reflected in the update, but he’s probably on more wages than currently (probably between £15k - £20k).

Joey Barton reportedly signed a big contract, between £50k and £75k. Think he’s currently on £30k in the update.

Mark Viduka has signed a two year contract with the option of a third but in this version he has a three year contract. Not sure what your thoughts are on this.

Some of the squad numbers are also wrong – not sure if you’re updating these or not. If you’re after the correct ones you can find them on nufc.com (click on link for players).

Finances also seem a bit high. We’ve just spent £20m on players so it’s doubtful there’s nearly another £20m in the kitty. I would suggest somewhere between £7m - £10m would be more accurate (if not lower).

Thanks kutgw

To answer the 'Anderson' question - he starts off, along with Nani, in the reserve squad.
Many thanks for the delightful compliment hehe.

Cheers mate! I've made the changes, including squad numbers. As for Viduka's contract, I've processed thousand of transfers and if I see Viduka signed a contract for Newcastle till 2009 I just put 2009 in it. You are correct, if you check FM it should be till 2008 coz FM starts in 2006.

I hope you don't mind me doing this.

One thing at the moment..

There is no addition of Jonathan dos Santos. He is playing with his brother for Barcelona and is apparently more gifted. Just thought with you adding players this might have been included.

Apart from that, Brilliant!
Thanks for the compliment mate. I will look into this Jonathan dos Santos fella! Cheers for reporting this!
</BLOCKQUOTE>

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jonathan_dos_Santos

Lack of info on him, all I know is that he's considered to have a better first touch, although Gio has a better footballing brain and better passing. It's safe to say they're both -9's.

Jonathan's biggest weakness is his lack of stamina, for someone quite thin he can barely make it through a training session. Apparently when he went for the trial the manager of that particular Barca youth team wasn't keen on him because of his lack of fitness but gave him a second chance because of Gio being his brother. </BLOCKQUOTE>

Jonathan plays as a defensive midfielder, but his style is similar to Pirlo (milan) and Gago (R. Madrid).

I couldn't help laugh at that. There is no way he is on that much money.
He will be on decent wages, Varney is rumoured to be on around £10k to even £22k.

I normally would have said around £4-5k a week, but I've underrated the Charlton wages in the past by a lot.

ASEC are one of the world premier footballing academies, i cant think of any players or other links they have with charlton?
please enlighten me...
Bakary Soro is on loan at Germinal Beerschot (another club we are linked with) in Belgium, until he can get a work permit. He signed for Charlton from ASEC. We also had a few ASEC players on trial last summer.

The ASEC website, http://www.asec.ci/index2.php?page=partenaire1

There was a page when they agreed the deal, but I can't find it.

Its also on the Charlton website.

http://www.cafc.co.uk/overseas6.ink

The deal with ASEC dovetails neatly with Charlton's CAFC Soccer Belgium set-up in particular, with clubs such as Germinal Beerschot Antwerpen offering the opportunity for players to gain experience in European football and work permits.

Explained Peter: "We make an annual payment to sponsor the ASEC academy so we get first call on their players, and we need to increasingly work to make sure they are placed with other clubs.

"If they can go to Beerschot that's fine and under the terms of our deal they get first call, but if Beerschot can't find a spot in their squad at that time, then we can place them elsewhere as well.”

At the end of the 2006/07 season, one former ASEC player, Soro Bakary, had been placed at Beerschot, while two more, Ismael Beko Fofana and Konan Serge Kouadio, were playing for Norwegian side Fredrikstad. In addition, the club had agreed to place further players at French club Nancy.

You can also use the buttons at the bottom of that page to read about the links with other clubs. </BLOCKQUOTE>
It wouldnt suprise me if they payed him so much wages, as the transfer fee they payed for him was a massively inflated, so why not go the whole hog and give him mega-bucks.

Just out of interest do you have any plans for future releases?

Not trying to say ‘release one now’ but just wondering if you’re planning a weekly update like Weegie or if you’re planning on waiting until the window closes.

"Transfers in-
Izale McLeod from MK Dons, 4 year contract, squad number 35, wages £8k
Zheng Zhi, Shandong Luneng, 2 year contract, squad number 20, wages £10k
Therry Racon, Guingamp, 4 year contract, wages £8k"

Just to update the above, Zheng Zhi will wear squad number 5 and Racon will now be number 20.

This is because Diawara has left and gone to Bordeaux, hence Zheng takes the number 5 shirt.

I was gonna wait till sept. 1st. to get it but just couldn't wait after reading all these glowing reviews here. This update is great and obviously tremendous work has been put into it.

Ólafur Ingi Skúlason left Brentford for Helsingborg in february this year. Don't know the price but he got shirt nr.13.

That's the only thing I noticed at a quick glance. I feel the game is slightly unfavourable towards B. Vidarsson who plays for Everton. Think he should have a higher PA. He is regarded as the one of the most talented youngsters at Goodison.

Excellent work, guys!

Just realized that on this update, Barcelona are CL champs and Sevilla also, which is correct but against M'boro. Why is this?
