I've just created a new nation, over the top of C.I.S, and they're in Group 8 of the EURO 2008 qualification, but they have no fixtures for some reason?

So basically my nation is in the group, but will stay on 0 matches played throughout the tournament. The nation has 24 players, but when I take over them in-game they're given a number of random Spaniards.

Does anyone know the problem?

It is simple.

The Euro qualifiers are hard coded into the game.

When the world cup qualifiers roll around(and the next set of Euro qualifiers) the game will be able to set them.

The game will name players from the language you set in the countries profile, or the language of the town they come from unless the nation has enough names to name players. I am not sure how many it is, but I think it is a few hundred.

Ah okay, thanks.

But for the random players, the thing is that they're all Spanish, and yet the main language of my new country is English. Also, it brings in random actual players, like Almunia & Arteta.

Oh, then that I cannot help with.

Maybe you set the "Years to gain nationality" to 1, and them players were bought by clubs of your nation, then got their new nationality from playing there when you were on holiday.

No the years to gain nationality is on 4 years, and there are no clubs in my new nation

In fact, the players like Almunia & Arteta still say they are of Spanish nationality, but play for my country..

Oh, well your nation needs clubs then. At least 10 for Europe, 5 for the rest of the world.

I would be interested to see if your nation is placed into WC qualifiers etc. later on.

I want to create a fantasy confederation set up and need to find out how the editing of nations and creation of nations affects things.

Or whether it is all too difficult.

Unfortunately fantasy confederation is impossible, but nations are easy.

As long as they have enough clubs, and you add them to Europe(the other continental club comps are hard coded for which nations clubs qualify) it will all work fine.

Surely by changing the names of the confed and competitions names for continental championships. And then going into each nation and realign them into their new confed. As long as the number of teams in each of the confeds is the same i can't see why it wouldn't work.
