i ve downloaded the weegie to update transfers etc. and installed it as directed. However, it says that it is supposed to ask me to choose a db when i start the game but i never get that and dont see any updates in my game when i start it. help plz!!

When you press 'start new game' is should come up.

Have you extracted the files or just copied over the rar/zip?
