Yeh, in Australia they just advertised a Wii game that allows you to make pixelated food in a digital kitchen. Moving the controller to ice cakes, and mix batters and turn meat. Not bad if you want to live in a Japanese style matriarchal society. But really this is the 21st century...the only thing prevented mixed competition is sexual harassment law which would require that every stadium needs four change rooms minimum (or perhaps we keep the two and one becomes men and one women). I was very impressed with the skill of some of the players in the recent womens world cup also. Junior girls soccer participation is higher than men in many first world countries (especially Australia, New Zealand, United States and Canada). So don't say it won't happen...besides i didn't see the fairer sex cheat half as bad as a men's brazilian or argentinian national team. That's enough reason to give them a fair go.

| LOW BLOW!!
You could have just said that the current standard is pretty low!
I also think that the general worldwide standard standard of women's football is rather poor (can't include North Americans or Germans though), but i think that Futsal should be more encouraged with women, simply due to the fact the ball is slightly smaller (more suitable), the pitches a lot smaller and there is less physical contact, something which a lot of doctors will tell you is more dangerous in sport for women than it is for men. http://www.fifa.com/aboutfifa/develo...ofthegame.html |

Cruyff14:
That was so low.
...and I totally disagree with you.
I think Birgit Prinz is a wicked footballer.
They make lack the pace of the men's game but the delivery of crosses, long shots and general tactics is good.
The goalkeeping leaves a lot to be desired though.

| Did you by any chance base this post on the Argentinian women's team? If so, I completely understand where you are coming from. I watched them at the recent world cup and it was mentally painful to see them play. It was like watching a poor version of Accrigton Stanley's reserves. Really poor. I wonder how they qualified.
But anyway, I doubt women will make it into the game. We've already got Amy Raynor in there (female lineswoman) so I think that will do for now. Small steps.

Think it was Birgit Prinz who was bought by the mad manager of Perugia a couple of years ago, but the transfer was cancelled by the FIFA, sad though, would have been nice to see how it would have turned out. Think it would have resulted in a lot of unhappy male faces, when the women would be dribbling past them.

Mad, not because he bought a woman, he was just a weird guy, and it was not the manager, but of course the chairman. Weird because he told Jung Hwan Ahn that he could not return to Perugia after the World Cup in 2002 because he had eliminated Italy with his goal in overtime.

Mad, as in weird, because he had also made it clear to Jung Hwan Ahn, that he did not want him to play for Perugia anymore, after he had eliminated Italy with a Silver Goal in the World Cup 2002. And it was not the manager, but of course the Chairman.

Prinz could score against most teams.
Reminds me of Nistelrooy.
Would have been awesome to see what happened.
Personally, I think FIFA should allow women to play. What's the worse that could happen, a mass infiltration of League 2?
In the end, it would help the womens game and hell, if you supported Chelsea and it was a woman who scored the winning header in the Champions League in the first year of the new rule in place you wouldn't bemoan "shame it was a woman" you'd be cheering your grapes off.
