I'm new here and anyway the casing u have that holds the knob.. not the knob itself but what you put around it is what I'm trying to make and having difficulties. I'm sure its simple but I'm trying to make it for around 800x wide by say 500 high.. with a bigger hole. Its going to be an interface for a website but I cant seem to make it look right when its that big. The gradients look unrealistic for me when its that big. Any tips?

Well actually, you might well have trouble with that. That's pretty big. It would be equivalent to being zoomed right in on a smaller image; i.e. you see all the fine details.

One thing though to note about that bg gradient is that i used Levels to lighten up the darker shades quite abit. Thus creating a more ombient/global lighting effect with subtle shades.

Try that perhaps.

thanks. I tried some things and I'm doing this all vector btw to keep the file size small which isnt a problem normally but you could see all those details like u mentioned. I've worked on it quite a bit more and got others opinions, because when I work on something for too long I start to get confused myself so i ask for outside opinions, and they say It's nice...

I'm picky but I think its getting there myself. I'll keep messing around with it and when its done to the best of what I think it can be I'll go ahead give u guys the link so u can see it, and if u all have any advice it would be appreciated

I would show you what I have now, but I really like to try to work through things myself first. Helps me learn better
