I've got 1.0.7 but it isn't compatible with FM2008, is there one out for FM08 yet?
Cheers
Personally I've never trusted cleaners, I've had too many crashes later on to trust them. Apologies to the more experienced users if this is very basic, but the safest way of doing it yourself is to set up a shortcut on your desktop to this file -sorry, this is the Vista link but you should be able to work it out yourself for XP :
CUsers\(name of your 'my documents' folder)\AppData\Roaming\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2008\temporary
Then load up the game, open this folder and delete any pks files. These are the matches played files - who played, view highlights etc, it does not clear the summary results history. Those starting with a 0 (eg pks_0_0.msa) are, or at least were for FM2007, your own clubs games so you might want to keep them.
Do this at your own risk, don't blame me if it all goes wrong. If anyone know better then I'm happy to be corrected.
How does that clean up saved games though, I fail to understand.
The only reason I want to reduce the size, is to offer the files for download and obviously want them at, as small a size as possible and i'm willing to sacrifice the ability to watch old games in order to do this.
But if the files are stored in application data, how does that reduce say a 70mb save game, to something smaller as i'm not touching the save game at all :S

You are 'touching hte save game'. Delete the pks files then save your game. The new save file will be much smaller than before.
Those pk files are saved into the save game file and what a save game cleaner does is remove them from the save game file. If you do it manually you are removing them before you save the game again and then when you save it they dont get saved. Same thing in the end but more safer doing it manually.
