Creating supeleague - array access of bound problem
Hello everyone.
I have problem witth creating superlegue. In FM 2007 i have created SL without any problems but in 2008 is something wrong.
First at all, i have decided to create SL based on English leagues.
Premier division works great, i have real, milan, inter and other great teams in premier league BUT when i changed Coca Cola Championship (English second league) game crashes whenI try to start new game. When I select england and all leagues, on "setting game databese" FM trows message box with error: array access of bounds. I have clicked ok for a tousand times but it simply won't go. Progress bar stopped below "...game database".
I'm not sure why this crash occur? Changed Premiership works but when I try to change lower league - won't work.
I have erased all competition history, removed other compettiotions from clubs...
Any help is wellcome.

In Coca-Cola Championship you MUST leave SHEFF UTD and CHARLTON in that league.Everything else you can change with other teams.I mean every other league you can change.
I try put SHEFF UTD and CHARLTON in lower league but than game dont work.
I am playing my Super League and everything work great.
I hope I help you.If you have other question ask me.
ENJOY!!!!!!!

Charlton and Sheffield United do not need to be there. If you read what I said, the problem is easily fixed by sitting the "Last Division" and "Last Position" for the teams involved.
It crashes because when it tries to seed the League Cup, it cannot because the game does not know how the teams should be seeded due to it not knowing in which position the teams finished.
Chartlon and Sheffield United are probably the teams with the "Last Position" and "Last Division" that the game use to identify seeding type. I'm not sure, but I think that they finished in a position which allows them a better seeding them the other First Division teams.

Like croatianfan I set up a super league in FM2007 very simply with no problems, and decided to do it again in FM2008 (using England as my template) only to have the, 'array access out of bounds' error.
I couldn't figure it out so went searching in the forums and read Amerxxl's solution and decided to give it a go. But to no avail.
I've also tried Dave Fairbairn's solution, but that also didn't solve the problem (although he does sound like he knows what he's talking about).
So I painstakingly went through swapping a couple of teams in the editor, trying to load the db in FM, if it worked, swapping a couple more teams, and trying again, etc etc...
And I discovered that you can only have a maximum of any 4 teams from any one foreign nation in any one league.
For example my Premiership Division consists of:
4 English teams
4 Spanish
3 Italian
2 Brazilian
2 Portuguese
1 French
2 German
and 2 Argentinean
And my, what would be the Championship division, consists of:
4 Italian
3 Spanish
3 English
2 Brazilian
1 Portuguese
1 French
2 German
2 Dutch
2 Turkish
1 Greek
1 Russian
1 Ukrainian
and 1 Scottish
I'm no expert, just a casual user, so this may just be fluke or coincidence, but it worked for all of the leagues from the Premiership to the Blue Square North and South divisions (I just ended up swapping all the teams in one go once I’d figured it out, and it worked).
I'd be interested to hear what other people's experiences are with this issue.
If people want me to I'll post a more accurate list of the teams in each league.
Hope this helps!

This will crash in the long run unless you change the nation of all teams to England.
The game will get confused when trying to promote teams(because their nation is invalid) and just not bother promoting anyone. The lowest division will just keep shrinking by however many teams have been relegated until it no longer exists. Then it will start happening to the division above it etc. etc.

Thanks for your warning Dave, I set the game to run overnight to see if that might happen as I didn't want to invest a lot of time into a game that would crash, but it didn't.
There is still as many teams playing in all the leagues as there was originally.
Also the Eurpoean competitions all run fine too.
Looking at the teams in FM, it would appear that when I've swapped the teams in editor it has automatically changed the nation to England.
Everything at the moment is running fine with no problems!
So if you want to create a Super League, this way at least, would appear to work. If anybody wants more info just let me know.
