This will crash in the long run unless you change the nation of all teams to England.

The game will get confused when trying to promote teams(because their nation is invalid) and just not bother promoting anyone. The lowest division will just keep shrinking by however many teams have been relegated until it no longer exists. Then it will start happening to the division above it etc. etc.
This could be quite a fun challenge and would certainly add an extra motivation for not being relagted.

thankfully it doesn't happen though!!

follow mooks1978 method and the game runs without errors!!

i've had mine running all morning after following mooks1978 instruction, and just checking up on it now and all leagues still have proper number of teams and there's been no errors.

the onyl thing i'm about to look into is the divisions lower than the blue square north and south because i've had teams promoted into those leagues who are obviously rubbish!!!!!

but they've also gone striaght back down after not winning a single game!!

It does happen if there are no English teams in the lower divisions.

It will only promote teams who are from England into an English league if the league it is promoting from is unplayable.

I've carried out a bit of investigation into this and in my game certain non English teams that where relegated from the Blue Square North and South have a season, or two, or three later, reappeared back into the BSN or S, obviously gaining promotion from whatever non playable league they went down into.

The game is promoting foreign teams from non playable English leagues into playable English leagues.

So the slowly dissapearing leagues aren't happening at all!

Did you change these team's nation to England? I assume you did as otherwise this will not happen, and that is what I am trying to get at. When you change a team's nation in the editor, they now belong to that nation, no matter where their stadium is located. If you do not believe me, check their regens.

I didn't change them, but I did look into it in the game after your warning on the 28/10, and like I said, it would appear that when I've 'swapped' the teams in Editor it has automatically changed the nation to England.

I didn't change anything in Editor other than to 'swap' the teams!

Is it really an issue though that all the teams are now English? I only play my super league for the leagues, not for any European competitions. Without being able to change the fudamentals of FM you are limited to what you can achieve with regards to creating fantasy leagues and competitions etc. In my game (as I have all the best teams in my super league) the European compititions are less important as the leagues, as the quality of teams qualifying for Europe is obviously reduced as all the top teams are playing in one nation where only a handful of them gain European qualification.

Now what we need is the ability to be able to create our own fantasy leagues and competitions from the ground up, even if it's a little isolated sub-game!

Well, yeah. The nation of the team is what makes the game decide which nation the regens are from. For instance Barcelona will get English regens, AC Milan will get English regens etc. etc.

I should note, if you use Scotland, this will not be an issue because no one gets relegated from the Third Division(lowest playable league).

That's true it does!

I'm not being argumentative, because I am genuinely interested in what you have to say and advise, but it doesn't overly bother me that all regens will be English. In my experience regens only really come into play in 5-10 seasons time with this sort of game. You don't really need them in leagues where you have all the best teams and players in the world. And it doesn't stop regens in the super league, just makes them all English from the English based leagues as it's an English based super league. You can still get foreign regens from foreign nations.

But I admit it's not perfect!!
