ok so the thing is im trying to use editor but its not letting me edit an existing game that i am playing. . . .could some one please give me a helping hand

The editor that comes with the game is a database editor, meaning that you cannot use it to edit saved games.

Use FMM (read these forums to find info about it) to edit stuff during a game.
