Default PA and CA values

probably a stupid question, why when making a "wonderkid" do you set PA to be a negative number, whats he purpose of that?

- value force the game to generate a random PA within a limitied parameter:

-10 = 170-200 PA
-9 = 150-180 PA
-8 = 130-160 PA
-7 = 110-140 PA
-6 = 90-120 PA
-5 = 70-100 PA
-4 = 50-80 PA
-3 = 30-60 PA
-2 = 10-40 PA
-1 = 0-20 PA

if you were making your own wonderkid the purpose of giving them a - value instead of a fixed pa would be to introduce an element of randomness.

personally i would probably give them a fixed pa.

if you give your new wonder kid great stats and 200 for CA and PA then eventually he will grow into a great player giving he gaines experiance from playing and training

Please dont post if you dont know what you are talking about. If you give him 200 for CA he will not improve because thats the maximum. He might just have his attributes re-distributed through training. I dont think the game allows you to give a young player a CA of 200 anyway. It will reduce his ability once the game starts and then he can develop to eventually get his CA to 200 again.

For a wonderkind best thing is to give them a CA of like 150 or something which already makes them goo enough for the EPL and you give them a PA of 200 so they can go on to be the next Pele/Maradona.

The same would apply to you. You can give a young player a CA of 200 and it will stick.

So please don't post if you don't know what you are talking about DS.

Mooks1978 - it won't. The game brings down CA, and I think the limiting factor is age. So if you set a player's CA to 200 (with FMM), and his age is 17, it decreases slowly (with the corresponding slow decline in attributes). If you set it really high with the editor, pre-game, it'll be down at a 'sensible' level when the game is ready to play.

I think the age limits are coded in - they certainly were in FM07, because no amount of editing could get a really young player to stay at a very high CA.

To be fair, in my last post I am talking about FM07 - I haven't had the ability to manipulate the data in FM08.
There do seem to be limits, though. I couldn't get CA to stick above 175 for a 19yo, and not above 150 for a 17yo.

Sorry guys, I wasn't trying to be arsey, I just thought DS's post was a bit unfair.

That said, I have made 17 year old players in FM2008 with a CA and PA of 200, and I've monitored them over a number of seasons and the CA stuck.

Not saying that works for everyone, FM does seem to work differently for different people. But it did work for me.
