As a 5-time purchaser of CM,FM and now WSM, I've never found a data editor problem until now. The editors have improved over the years, and the one included in WSM is great, except for one thing: there's no screen provided at the WSM new game start-up that allows you to choose your database.
This problem was solved at a personal level in WSM 07 by loading the game through the shadow fm.exe file included on the WSM 07 CD, but there is no such file in WSM 08.
SI -- Please include the selection screen in a patch, but in the meantime, can anyone tell me where WSM execute goes to select the file? No matter how I rename and shuffle files and folders, WSM loads the default 800 database.
WSM does have a selection screen, the issue is that by default the editor saves databases in the Football Manager 2008 folder, and WSM looks in the Worldwide Soccer Manager 2008 folder. If you move your edited database folder into the WSM08 folder. It should pop the selection screen when you run WSM.
Both folders are located in the My Documents\Sports Interactive\ folder. You can change the editors default save location by going into the editors options.
