Not sure if this has been tackled on here before, couldn't find a topic on it though. Also, I'm not really up on the editing side of FM, just helping a friend out.
Right, friend of mine's made a Euro Superleague database, gone the whole hog with about 7 odd divisions full of Europes best. "Fantastic" thinks I. So I test it out, and whenever I test stuff for the first time I usually plump for Liverpool to do the testing. Liverpool are predicted by the media to finish 3rd in this league...bearing in mind it also includes the likes of R.Madrid, Barca, both Milans, Roma, Ajax, not to mention Arsenal, Chelsea and Man Utd.
Put simply, I think it's a bit unrealistic for media moguls to predict that high a finish for a team with about 4 or 5 seriously top class players at most, compared with a team of galacticos like Madrid or worldbeaters like Milan who are only predicted mid-table. Initially it was suspected that the database just thought all the other english teams had somehow been relegated (league modelled on the Premiership), and therefore thought since the other teams had somehow all been promoted, they would likely finish below the english ones that "stayed up"
I'm led to beleive that board expectations are determined by the previous seasons finish, but what influences the media? is it the same, or as we thought? Basically I want to know what the best way to rectify this problem is through editor use. Help would be appreciated
