Default Quick mask problem when using it as a selection tool
When i use quick mask for a selection when i do crtl and j for a new layer the opacity for the cutout part is only about 40% ie you can see the checkered boxes through the image
Can anyone please help as I can't figure it out ,it used to work fine but i must have changed a setting

Are you painting in pure black or white? Is the brush opacity setting 100% ?

I have found the problem on the right hand side where the history box is there was another setting for foreground/backgroung colour which was set at around 60% i have changed it to 100 ok now
