Hi,

Try the pentool for ur cutouts !
These are much cleaner
If you are not familiar with this tool
http://www.wz2k.co.uk/ has great video tutorials.

And of course check out the tutorial section from this site
http://photoshopgurus.com/tutorials_beginner.html and look for selection tools

Hi Brad,

Welcome to the forums!

Forget the dum-ass bit. With Photoshop there ain't no such thing.

If I'm following your thoughts, you are trying to create a selection around parts of an image and then place those on another? Making them blend is always an issue. As there are about a zillion techniques for creating selections which depend on the specific image I would suggest that you attach a sample of the image you are working on and describe specifically what you are trying to do. Keep your image to 600 px wide and under 100K, preferably way under so people with dialup connections don't have to wait too long.

Secondarily, if you are using Photoshop CS and want to learn about using selections, here is one very good tutorial...

Hi Brad
I use the quickmask for cutouts and find them very good
click on enter quickmask paint on the part you want to keep which should be in red make sure the oapacity is 100% when you exit the quickmaskyou will see the selection is made for you now do ctrl j and you should have a very good cutout
I agree with you all the other selection tools are a bit rough !

Nice link stanislav! [righton]

There is another one, maybe a little simpler (real easy to follow) that "JoeD" posted for me about a month or so back.

http://www.photoshopgurus.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=6005&start=15

The tute is about 1/2 way down the page and was posted by "JoeD". It teaches you to cut an object out of a picture.
