New Problem. Edited Database not found..!! (important)
Ok, so i've edited my database, and sent it to my friend (as usual). He put the DB in the correct file holding (My Documents > Shared > SI > FM08 > DB) yet the game does not recognise it.
Now i can only assume one reason why.
1. I edited it on a mac, hes on a Windows PC.
If its not because of that, how does he make his version of the game, recognise the database i sent him?

Both Patched.
We've done it on FM07/06 with Mac/PC ... but for some reason it wont find the database today.
I doubt its due Pc/Mac, because i duplicated my edited db, and called it something else, added it into the folder, yet it didnt appear in the game, but there MUST be a way to recognise it surely, because cant you download databases here ??

I initially thought that was the case, but i've since been told otherwise by SI employees.
Also, I have a created database, named Database X. I duplicated this, and named it Database Y. I then put it in the DB folder alongside Database X, yet when i open up FM, There are only two avialiable Databases, 'Default' and 'Database X'. So even putting a new DB on my DB folder, it still doesnt recognise it.
However, when I click 'preferences' and then 'Use 'user data' folder for temprary files' and click 'Change...' the folder is recognised there, but it still doesnt register on the actual game.
Its getting my goat now too. i wasted nearly 6 hours trying to start a linked game with my friend yesterday, and we've encountered a mass of probelms.

I'm not sure how the code for Mac goes. Maybe the editor (when you make a new db) creates a text list of the actual databases, so in order to clone a database you have to load it up in the editor and save it as another name.

Yea i tried that too, but the editor only offers to load up the games you've saved in the editor.
