Question - When I update some player stats and load this database, immediately the updated players has top clubs interested in them and they start bidding straight away. Then when I reject the bid they are unhappy etc... Is there any way that I can make it that these players will not have interest shown in them from top clubs?
Also, how do I get a decent wage budget, I will enter 1m on the editor but will only get 120k or so..?
A good way to stop clubs going after a player is by editing his reputation. Giving him a low rep will allow you to hopefully keep him, also making his loyalty high, and adding your club and yourself as favourite clubs/personal can help.
When it comes to editing budgets, i would recommend using FMM as its alot easier.
You'll find that even with a low rep, your players will only play a few games before the big clubs' scouts get at them, and if you set their PA much above 170, you'll be getting loads of bids.
I've tried:
making sure they have your club set as favourite, and that they dislike other big clubs;
Set them in the db with a low wage contract, and then offer them a huge, long contract as soon as you fire up the game;
When you get a bid in, don't refuse it. Negotiate it up to £100 million, and hope for the best.
With wage budget, it'll come back down if you don't set the balance higher - and sometimes that seems to be limited by club rep.
With FMM it's fairly easy:
Apart from the above already mentioned solutions (i.e. club and manager as favourites) you should raise the player's professionalism and loyalty to 20 and lower his ambition. This way it's probable that he won't be affected by your declining contract offers. Moreover, even if he gets dissatisfied, just after the transfer season untick the unhappy box in the FMM and you're OK. Finally, setting a very high transfer fee for the player will discourage some (if not all) of the contestants. Just as long as the president doesn't interfere to accept a very high offer...
