I'm not sure them teaming up would help. Amster has made a scout/editor that reads real-time values from a loaded game in memory, Genie's scout reads the values from a saved game file. Different techniques.

You are defeniteley wright about this one, but that's why they should combine and learn from each other and create a tool which can be the ultimate scout using those two techniques...
No... your missing the point, the more individuals there are making programs like this the more choice and availabilty the gamer can experience. If they all start joining forces, then we are all forever waiting for that 1 application to be released.
I can remember around 10 years ago, there where loads of different tools available for CM, several pre-game editors, several saved game editors, a few scouts, different data updates...
I don't know why there isn't so many these days, I guess its because SI started giving these people jobs
Spot on MrMoo123, there did used to be a much wider choice than now. In fact, at one time there were so many people working on their own projects, it was difficult to keep track of all the new releases...well that and the days of 14.4 modems!
Keep Amster and Genie apart, and Jpee for that matter. Variety is good.
Yep.. You got me..
I haven't thought about that one, but i've been around since the beginning when Paul Collyer and Oliver Collyer creating the first cm game and there where indeed more tools available back then.. Maybe it's because it's more difficult to create such tools now..
I now that as a faqt that i am a programmer myself and such programs are now more difficult to develop. I think it's time and try and make a nice program for FM aswell.. Not for being the best, but for providing more choices in FM World..

Quintano you should make an save game editor, just like the GK savegameeditor that was in the past.
Previous utilities were much worse then now. It's why people was trying to make better themselves. Now FM Genie Scout has everything you would want, so there's no point in making another such program.
RealTime programs can develop much more. As we see Amster did really "real time". I think in future such editor will develop much bigger scout module, and then it will probably replace Genie's sout
Thre is no save game editor now, and probably will not be any - it's replaced by RT editors (the idea is probably from ArtMoney). Saving gane is much harder then changing a few bytes in memory and let game save it itself.
