I am a Mod on his forum and his voice in here but apart from the odd e-mail, cant claim to be friends or have any more info that I have given before. I did ask him to let me know a little in adavnce of any news so that I could inform this forum but have heard nothing since. I am assuming that the site being down is partly due to revamping the forum pages for 08 but that is only a guess, unfortuneately

Seems to me like Genie's website is just having some tech problems and I doubt it has something to with the release. I think all the people visiting managed to crash the DB.

Lest's just be patient guys. In the meanwhile, we have always got 2007 to play and enjoy Genie.
