Reading through various posts I was debating going back to one of the beta patches. Thing is I'm defending ok in the 8.01 patch but just can't score.

It's so frustrating knowing you are 1 down and yet your striker will be one on one with the keeper and shoot right at the keepers chest every time!! As I said though I'm defending better after the patch. I'm losing 1-0 rather than 5-4!!!!

Any tips on how people score on the 8.01 patch?

I have only scored 5 and 4 were set pieces and one was from open play. I've done all the usual "long shots - rarely" routine.

Help appreciated.

use odd number of attackers.

1 striker with support of amc or wingers
3 strikers.

make sure to tweak your tactic to your teams ability and set up corner tactics and so on.

use dmc in your tactics. in my current game i lost 1 game in 3 years as lazio. that was a game where they scored 2 frekicks early in the game on me.

I like using a big target man and a small very fast srtiker next to him and the target man usually flicks it on my speedy little guy gets to it first and rounds the keeper and burys it 9 times out of 10 I dont score and insane amount but it seams quite realistic.

I'm trying that as West Ham. Ahton and Bellamy. Bellamy shoots straight at the keeper every time!! Ashton and Defoe. Defoe rounds the keeper and shoots towards the corner flag in keeping with his high finishing stats!!

Three ways.

Through balls to a pacy striker (especially on a wet pitch), getting it to my fairly pacey AMC with modest dribbling, who splits the DCs, and corners.

AMC is countered with a 3-back defense. Really do think he's a bit buggy, as the DCs just part like the Red Sea as he goes by. He starts behind my strikers (who have sarrows out), and the DCs move wide to mark them, but by the time they can turn around, the AMC is gone, gone, gone. Then, SuperKeeper and BadMiss take over, except when them game actually allows him to score. But it happens.

they will miss even with 20 finishing and composure. make sure u create enough chanses then u will win.

in patch 8.01 they tuned down scoring ability from strikers becouse game ended 7-6 and 5-4 way to often.

if your strikers miss alot then opposition strikers will miss alot to.

make sure your strikers have options with the ball to run with or to make crosses or something so they dont take long shots.

and btw get strikers and midfielders with 20 in long shots and passing

A 4-4-2 I have ng on with Ashton as a Target Man. Only problem is he doesn't seem to win any headers to flick on..

Bellamy was the business pre patch. I'm seriously considering goping back to second Beta I was doing ok with that.

Also anyone experience your central midfielders dawdling on the ball and losing it in 8.01?
