Default Game Over

Well thats it, I have had enough of this awful game. I am heading back to FM 2007.

After being several smaller lower division clubs and being quite frankly awful, I decided to be Man Utd.

The result is, there is no difference. I have played and lost my first 3 games of the season at home to Derby, away at Portsmouth and then away at Tottenham. In the Tottenham game i had 4 shots compared to there 43!!!

Midfielders do nothing, and when they have got the ball they just stand there until it is taken off them. Defenders walk around while the opposition runs off them at will. Strikers even when they are presented with a chance from about 3 yards out tap it nicely back to the opposition Goalkeeper.

Any instruction you try and give any player is completely ignored. What part of "defender collect, short passing" do you think my Goalkeeper does'nt understand?

And dont get me started on the amount of penalties or deflected shots and rebound goals there are.

This game is pure sh!t.

you really need to be using either of the beta patches, they're much better than the final patch. The match engine is quite frankly ruined in the final patch.

instructions are not completely ignored. defneders do not walk around while oppo runss off them.
and how the hell do you get the oppo to take 43 shots?
i'm not saying there are no problems but your over exagerating here.

Did i read that right, the beta patches are nowhere near the level of the final patch

But the fact is that many of the problems he's outlined are down to him being a poor manager and not down to the game being bugged. There are problems with the game, no-one's denying that, but none of them are outlined in the opening post.

All the things mentioned are simply because he's not very good at the game. Despite the problems there are plenty of people who can win leagues with both Man Utd and lower league teams. There are also plenty of people who can see their player instructions working on the pitch.

So by all means stop playing the game if it's too difficult for you, there are other games out there. But don't blame your managerial inadequacies on the game.

because he's saying that defenders walk around with the oppo runs of them at will.

well unless it was coded like that i don't see what combination of tactics would give that result.

again. 'instructions are completely ignored'. their not. thats a fact. instructions aren't completely ignored otherwise they would be for me as well.

Actually, the "defenders walk around" issue has been reported by many in the bugs forums and is being looked into by SI.

4 shots on target with the patch? my god... What tactics are you running?

I still can easily get 17 shots on target in a match, with mostly any team. Of course the lower league teams don't really know how to shoot, but their goalkeepers are crap so it makes up for it ^_^

Anyway, honestly? Check out the tactics forum. 08 is by far easier to manipulate with tactics than the previous versions (your tactics actually matter!)

is it that specific though? defneders wlak around with oppo runing past at will? if that was the case games for me would be higher scoring.
i've had carragher and finnan, as examples, race across the pitch to snuff out an attack on many occasions.
