It's realistic that they refuse to sign for your club; otherwise it would be far too easy to get a lower league club promoted. What is not realistic is that these talented players are not picked up by other clubs at an appropriate level. It is frustrating seeing good players disappear, when in real life they would find a club.

Wow! So incredibly realistic! Haven't you heard of Jimmy Humuhumununukuapua who wonned 8 times in a row UCL with his team, and 8 times in a row best players in the world, and he retired at age of 19? It's perfectly normal what happend to you!

I'm sicked of people who give examples to show that some crazy **** from FM08, really can happen IRL, so I've given the example myself!

I'd like to see the ability to "leave an offer on the table", possibly indefinitely, for this player. Other AI teams would need to do the same thing ..

.. so when he gives up on waiting for Chelsea to realize his potential he might sign with the club that's made the best offer for him so far.

Alternately, this might be a spot where it would be good for inactive clubs to pick him up; I noticed this in FM'05 when playing a Small DB / one league game, and managing a country from an inactive league. I would have promising U-19 and U-21 players whose contract-with-an-inactive-club expired, they became available on a free, and weren't getting any offers.

If I made a bid for them with my club team, that would spark a "bidding war" among inactive teams from Spain, Germany, etc, and the player would eventually find a home. If I didn't, the player would never get any offers, and would retire.

So maybe it should be a periodic process - inactive teams paying attention for "high PA" players who are out-of-contract.
