One question I've been pondering that I've yet to see the answer to anywhere on the forums:
When you choose to start a new game without using real players, how does FM fill the required teams?
Specifically:
(1) Does FM simply change the names of existing players?
(2) If not, FM must generate players and add them to each team. Are these players attributes and CA/PA in line with each club's reputation?
(3) If so, how closely are these players in line? For example, would Chelsea be allotted an expensive team of veterans and Arsenal given a team of budding youngsters?

1. Sometimes
2. Yes
3. It depends on weather player names are just changed.
On FM07 I once started a new game with "that" un-ticked.
Chose Liverpool to manage and the team was filled with really odd players, the most valuable was some Columbian guy (AMLC) worth about £8.5M.
I was hugely disappointed and started again with real players.
