Well I recently complained a bit in another topic where I mentioned the fact that despite being wanted by the Glazers, rated 17th best in Europe ever, currently best in Europe and winning the EC, WC and confederations cup I was largely ignored for the sake of Steve Copell, rated 204th on the European charts.
Well once again he failed at doing anything well with ManUtd, and so did most of the other club teams. In fact by the end of the season the following managers was forced to leave their club:
Ruud Guilt: Barcelona (picked ahead of me)
Steve Copell: Man Utd (made ManUtd fail and sold a lot of prospects)
Martin O'Neil: Aston Villa
Adrian B-something: Watford
Arsen Wenger: Arsenal (he won the league and decided to leave)
Clubs that lost managers, no idea who led them:
Zaragoza, Man City, Ac Milan, Lecce, at least 4 spanish first devision clubs (can't remember the names)
Anyway... all of the clubs, with the exception of the lower leagues, such as watford, lecce, Man City (they didn't think I'd join them, which is correctly thought) etc all had me touted as the favorite to take over. So I sit tight and wait for the manager of ManUtd (copell) to resign so I can apply for the job or be approached. This time I'm touted to be the favorite to take over Man Utd 5 times within a week before copell leaves.
so the second he leaves I check the clubs, but wait they already have a manager?! what the crap, yep... they assigned a new manager "Victor Fernandez" who instantly sold Christiano Ronaldo and Wayne Rooney to his former club Real Madrid for record low sums. Ronaldo went for £14m while rooney went for £20m. Before this Ronaldo was worth £45m and Rooney was worth £38m and close to beating Owen's record after only 70 international caps.
So once again. Man Utd ignore me. So I decide to try my luck with any of the other clubs, but alas. Every single club has already assigned a new manager!
And this without a single one of them asking me if i want the job, and this despite being touted as the absolute favorite.
In 07 I ALWAYS lost out to the ones touted as a favorite, this time I'm loosing out despite being touted the favorite... What's going on here?
I decide I'm sick of waiting months and months to get a game, so I apply for Watford, guess what. Watford, relegation candidates without a manager and desperate to get some new talent and someone to fix their finances flat out reject me and chose a manager with a reputation of regional.
Honestly, could someone please explain to me how it's quite impossible for me to get a club job despite being the favorite, being in world's top 20 ever managers and having won what can be won as an international manager?!?!?
Responses appreciated.. cause this is getting ridiculous..
Seems to be just one of those things in the game that's, I dunno, "under-done"..
Like the transfer system where nothing really seems to happen.
Not sure, really.
If youre already in a job then the team your applying to may not want to stump up the fee theyd have to pay to take especially if you have a while left on your contract and the less rated managers dont (not sure if the game takes into account this) but it could be the case
