I've been deleting history one at a time, also. Big pain. I didn't know you could take snap shots of the history. Very cool. Thanks kiwi. [righton]

[righton] | It's never really necessary to delete history lines. Just go back to a line in history and continue with your next action. When you do, it replaces all the history lines below it.

In response to your post, maybe I'm not following your instructions correctly but when I go back to a line in History it doesn't delete the lines below it.
It just creates a line at the end of the History lines and that's where the new History lines begin but the old lines that I bypassed are still there taking up space. [confused]

| Then I think you need to go into the history pallette options, and untick the 'allow nonlinear history' box, and then it should start again from whatever history point you're at, overwriting previous bits you no longer want.
