Default Mr Jack Warner should learn our history

It does beggar belief: can anyone tell me of a more stupid sentence than "They (England) have contributed nothing to world football other than inventing it".

Shall we start from the top Mr Warner?

We gave the great game its rules, possibly? Not to mention the clubs around the world that were created by supporters or even players of English clubs (including teams from your domain, Mr Warner) in the 19th and 20th century (see the British Empire, Mr Warner).

We may have only won one world cup, but have entertained millions for years via the television and our great leagues: further, England has played in some of the most entertaining and legendary games of all time (even the Germans remember the 5-1 win willingly as it was, in Lehmann's terms, a great game).

Not only that, but most, if not all of the major rules and quirks were invented in England - sadly, the offside rule, but other innovations such as the Substitute, linesman and, of course, the replica shirt are all ours.

These views are nothing short of racist. There is no reasoning behind his comments, and I certainly do not believe that the vice-president of Fifa should even be uttering those words.

The fact of the matter is this: no one in the Fifa setup - and this is crucial - should be biased in one way or another, or have any sort of link that causes a conflict of interest (see Concacaf).

Not only does it lead to these, quite simply, derisory and pathetic comments, but it creates ill feeling among the countries that it governs.

Mr Warner's comments are to be ignored anyway: for the bid, England has the best grounds in Europe by far, will have an improved infrastructure around London thanks to the Olympic games, and, in a position so different from what happens on the field - we'll win.

I was shocked to read Jack Warners comments about England when asked about their chances of getting the 2018 World Cup. For example:

'It will be Italy, Spain, or even France who will get the World Cup if it goes to Europe.'

"Nobody in Europe likes England. England invented the sport but has never had made any impact on world football'

How can someone so high up in world football make comments like this. Despite the fact England are one of only a few countires to win the world cup we've staged successful tournements like Euro 96 and the english is argubly the best in the world. What exactly did Japan and South Korea gve the world of football when they hosted the world cup?

Your thoughts?

This guy Warner is a complete joke. His hypocrisy is just obscene. He was instrumental in getting John MacBeth removed from his post for "racist" comments before he even took up his FIFA post. Now here we have him coming out with racist nonsense himself - "No-one likes England". Imagine the outcry if a white man ran around saying "No-one likes Africa"!!! Unfortunately nothing will be done qbout this obscene little man since he is instrumental in keeping Sepp Blatter in his job. FIFA is rotten to the core and Warner is a big reason for this being the case. He went after John MacBeth because was intent on taking on the corrupt element within the game. Warner knew this spelt trouble for him and MacBeth unfortunately gave him all the ammo he needed.
