[confused] Hi guys, Nice bb!
I?m going to try and explain an effect that i saw in a flash movie, but needs photoshop to use layers i guess. Here it goes: In some comercials i saw a photograph where they zoomed in on an item or person without influencing the background. not like panning in flash files, but really zooming in. F.e. a child in the foreground and a grandpa on the porch and they zoom in/out on the child without inluencing background of the picture. Ithink the effect is named after the guy who first used it, but i don?t remember his name. It?s a 2d/3d illusion i guess. Anyway. If somebody nows what i?m talking about here, i?d appreciate some suggestions or site link tutorials. [righton]

That's a great visual trick huh? [excited]

The first time i saw that used in a scary movie (stephen king i think) i thought my eyes were buggin out. [bustagut]

It's done using 2 separate cameras.
One focuses the foreground and zoom in, the other on the background, and zooms out. Then they're composited together later.

To recreate this effect would be tough. But you might try by separating the foreground subject/object from the background. Then just zooming the foreground. If that doesn't look quite right try zooming out the BG also. This would of course mean you'll need to start with an image that is halfway in between both finished (zoomed) sizes of the FG & BG.

Hope that helps.
Good luck!

And please post your results here ok?
I'm real curious! [righton]
