it is like pompus, it essentialy means to be overy zealous or full of your self, in the game if the team is ahead you use this to make sure they go out and play just as hard as they did the first half. or next game.

complacency means that they shouldnt get careless, you are telling them not be over confident

in football terms say cheslki vs west ham they have to worry about not playing to their potential as if they go in expecting a win (who wouldnt) they could end up losing cos they were arrogant. thats essentially wat it is
