First Season with Bayern Munich i played 4-3-3 and won the league and Champions League. After i played a 4-4-2 never can win Champions League. Best was half final and quarter Final.
changing to a direct 433 for those latter champions league games can really be the difference.
also be really specific with individual instructions, target mans and set peices etc. to also stamp the players strengths on the game. (you might wanna really tighten things up and counter attack depending on how strong your team is)
i've made loads of money and knocked out loads of big teams in the fa cup with lower league teams by doing this.
the less you use it aswell the more effective it works!
i think in europe most teams expect and play a short passing game so surprising teams with occasional direct play can really upturn teams. im a right in thinking that your 442 is more short passing orientated these days?
i usually play a reasonably attacking style by dominatating with strong physicall prowess but mainly just cause i have to play that way to stay in the league at the moment.
if you play attacking if found it helps to make the defensive sliders on full backs lower.
andrew give us some more information about your team, tactics etc...
u use a:
-----Ustari-----
schmoller--tuia--taylor--bale
----------ale-----------
mokoena-----------marcelo/ben harfa
-----anderson-----------
bojinov-------bendtner
i usually use an attacking mentality, i switch between short passing and slightly direct, creativity settings depending on each player, closing down to maximum, tackling to medium
my fullbacks have forward runs to often and lines up to the top left&right corners and my right&left midfielders running int the striker positions
is it better to play with a target man or not
by the way bale gets alot of assists this way through set-pieces and crosses
