I've done this a couple of times. I had a player that I spent 25mil on but was a flop and the most i was getting for him was around 12mil, so i 'cheated' and sold him to another team in my league for the amount i bought him. but that came back to haunt me as he became a sought after player and was sold 2 seasons later to another team for 65mil and shovelled 5 goals into the back of my net when he returned to play against my club... the swine!
