Literally nobody from SI has commented on it, which I think is a good indicator of how likely it is.

I must say that I'm a little disappointed, because I thought the achievements on the 360 added something else into the equation that was missing from the PC games.

Never mind - I guess it wasn't a very profitable thing to do anyway - but I, for one, shall miss it.

Well I'd never buy a game for achievement points and other than slightly faster processing, they'd really be the main features of a 360 version of FM '08 over the PC version I'd imagine.

Alot of people complained on here about the last 360 version, particularly the lack of SI feedback and the 'save game bug'. It was eventually fixed but for many it seems that was too little, too late. I don't know what SI's position is on this though so I won't comment. It's a shame for console-only owners, but the current PC FM '08 is so darn good so far that I'll probably end up recommending it over anything to come between now and FM '09 anyway.

Personally I always prefered FM '06 for a better UI, match engine, display and simplicity, still play it to this day and count it as the best console footie management game since CM 02/03 on the old X Box.

I got FM 2006 with my 360 and was impressed with how quick it was and how well it actually played, got a new pc for 2007 though.

I'd probably buy FM 2008 on the 360 if it came out, cos my PC is lagging slightly with 08.

Needs mouse and keyboard support though!

Keyboard support is already present. You can use either a standard USB keyboard, or the official (overpriced) Chat Pad.

Mice won't work on the 360 though, so that's a Microsoft issue not a SI one.

They did comment quite a while ago that a 360 version won't be released before Christmas and they wanted to make sure there wasn't the bugs that we in last years.
