The nest player in my squad is 7 months away from being out of contract and I keep offering him deals but every time all I get is ".... isn't currently interested in renewing his contract" or ".... is not willing to discuss a new contract at this time".

I asked him if there was a player he could recommend to win him over, so he recommends someone worth twice my transfer budget. How can I get him to sign a new deal?

Sometimes, you can't get them to sign.

Who are you? Who's the player? He obviously has ambitions that extend beyond your club, and if a player doesn't want to sign, then the chances are he won't. You can't just make a player sign a new contract, as we've seen many time irl. I would suggest trying to get as much money as you can for him before the Bosman ruling leaves you shortchanged.

Try praising him on his recent performances.

But sometimes the player doesn't want to sign a new contract. If he wont sign a new contact soon, I'd try and get some money for him.

same ere mate, my top scorer is out of contract at the end of the season and im 2nd in the league. he wont sign new deal and clubs are interested, shall i get rid in jan and risk not gettin promoted or hang on till end of season. decisions,decisions.

I have the same thing, except I'm at ManU in 2016, a team just won Premiership 3 times in a row, ranked 1st in the European Club, have worldwide club status. Currently sitting 1st in the league.

Except my RB don't want to sign a new contract. I have a massive budget and I'm sure I can offer whatever he wants, except he doesn't want to even negotiate.

I had the same problem with Anderson before this except that was a few seasons ago and we weren't doing so great. But I just can't understand why he won't sign after we've done so well. Perhaps he wants a new challenge? Except it doesn't say that in the personal description. It just says "Keeping His Options Open". Why?

Seems a little illogical since he's a definite member of my first team, performs well and enjoys playing for the club.

I guess I'll have to wait and see. What I did with Anderson before was simply waited til his contract almost ran out. Surprised that nobody came in to make an offer for him, probably couldn't afford his wage demand. I had to offer Anderson a big contract last time so hopefully this guy will stay in the end too.

My player is happy. We won the league las year and got promoted, and are sitting top of the league this year. His profile says he is happy playing for the club, but he won't discuss a new contract.

I think I'm gonna try bringing in staff that he likes...

Some players really wanna see what other options they have, usually waiting until he has about 3 months left on deal works.

Always the nasty possibility of someone snatching him up then though.
