Can anyone give me a complete idiots guide to how to download and run patches.

I think I almost managed to download one from gamershell.com but when I tried to run it, I was asked for a password?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Try either the Rapidshare, the Mirror or the torrent one. Should all be without passwords logically.

Thank God you've posted that request, I was about to do exactly the same thing myself having played CM/FM for years but never having downloaded a patch before. I need to know:

*Where to download from when I 'm stuck on dial-up (can't get broadband in my are grrr!)

*Where do I save the file when I download it (is it in an FM folder or just in my documents or what?!)

* I assume that installing a patch means I have to start my game again from scratch?
