I thought the same, but now I don't think so :s

My youth players earn 15€-70€. grey reserves players want to earn 140€ if they are more than 18yo. So I offen an amateur contract to them, but instead of playing free, they earn what they had demanded. I'm totally sure that they accept my amateur offer, is it a bug?

Most of my players are £1,000 to get rid of, so i can't see it dropping any lower even if i shorten the contracts, as the game tends to work in multiples of thousands for things like this. I will give it a go anyway though!
I have offered new contracts and managed to get some of them to accept the same wages and for there contract to expire at the end of June2009(instead of 2011) , hopefully when they expire I should be able to release them on a free , seems to be one way round it until the patch comes out.

You shouldn't have to stuff around offering them shorter contracts. In previous versions you could just dump them at will. They're not professionals so you shouldn't have to pay them off either. This is one of the very few things I have issue with in this version.

I believe it is being looked into though.

We all agree its a bug , this is just one way to get round it if you still want to play the game and try and keep on top contracts and your wage budget.
