After much delaying after hearing the bad press about this game, I finally got fed up with my FM07 save.
I now have FM08 and fully patched it up, but not started playing yet.
What I really want to know is if it's true what some people are saying, that it's not worth buying the game, as there are too many bugs? Or has the 801 patch fixed most things?
Anyway I'm about to set up my first DB! Any thoughts are appreciated!
Well I like it But then my last managing game was CM 01/02 so I figured it was time I modernised. There are a few bugs left, but much much less than the original release. Of course you should play it, people are generally over negative because they feel they deserve everything right now and completely amazing.
I haven't got the latest patch yet, but the game is fine, definitely lots of bugs. Game has improved, I feel it is more realistic. One thing which I don't like compared to FM 07 is it's match engine. I feel that FM 07 had much more smoother and flowing matches.
Yea you're right about the skin, the default one is horrible IMO, but I'm now using flex which is much better (ahh, good old style-FM).
As for the game it seems to be pretty much fine, match engine is excellent IMO, even if they do seem to be playing with a beach-ball.
My only slight niggle is the fact that a couple of clubs (namely Man City) Don't seem to have a very big transfer budget when maybe they should have more money to spend. I mean, we all know City's new owner is giving them around £50 million more to spend in January so why isn't this reflected in the game...surely this could have been updated in the new patch.
play it for yourself and see. the amount of moaning on this site you'd think that no one was happy but you'll be surprised. i'm extremely happy with the game and i'm sure there's alot more out there
