I have started a new game post patch with Leeds. I was previously Leeds in games pre patch. I had the option before to swap some of my transfer budget for extra wage funds. However, in this game, the only option I have is to swap my excess wage budget for more transfer funds which I don't want to do.

Is this a deliberate change or is there some other reason for this?

I've been told that the board decide when you can switch funds from one to the other.

Which pretty much removes this as being a usefull new feature for me.

I think (not too sure) it goes something like this,
The board do have a highest wage budget you can go up to, to try help keep the books balanced out. If you think about it if you sign players for less and give them huge wages then eventually you are going to be worse off. On the other hand if you give more to transfers its a one off fee(pretty much) and won't continue to drain your money.

Thats my view on the subject, hope this helps.

The two functions switch depending on your financial situation. For example, playing as Real Madrid on my game, when the wage budget was 1.11m and the current wage was 1.1m, I was given the option of injecting money into the wage budget. But once the wage budget increased to about 1.35m, I was then given the option to raise transfer funds instead.
