Something strange is happening for me. I was sure SI had acquired the rights to use the proper names for the French league/teams. Sure enough, when I select the leagues I want to be in the game, the official names are there. But when I click 'Start Game' and it loads one up, the correct names of the league disappear, and all the team names are incorrect. Incidentally, something similar is happening with certain other teams, though I know we can't discuss that here. Suffice to say I did was is required. But I definitely thought the French ones are okay now. So why are they changing when I start a new game? What's happening?

Have you been modifying the game yourself?

The official names in the game for the leagues are Ligue 1 Orange and a couple of sample team names are Paris Saint-Germain and A.S. Saint-Etienne

I did modify the 8.0.1 database, but then I tried it with the original 8.0.1 database and the same thing happened. The leagues are referred to as Ligue 1 Orange etc. until I actually click 'Start Game'. Then they lose their correct names, and Paris Saint-Germain become Paris FC, for example.

There is a Paris FC team in the game which comes up at search.

But it's called Paris FC 2000 if you click on it.

This is definitely the team that is supposed to be Paris Saint-Germain. It's happening to all the French teams and to the league itself. Do I need to uninstall and then re-install?

There is a real club called Paris FC though, who play in the lower divisions.

Whilst I don't doubt the exist of this 'Paris FC', it is completely irrelevant to my problem. However, an uninstall and reinstall, followed by downloading the patch again, seems to have solved my problem. I think what happened is that I deleted something I shouldn't have when I was trying to by-pass certain..ahem.. things.
