I have no problem with downloading or starting to install the patch but when the download gets to- Updating file 47 : \fm.exe. A window opens that says:
Error creating updated file - CProgram Files\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2008\fm.exe

Error 0x00000020 - The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process.

I have tried downloading two other patches from other links and I keep getting that message. So I am very lost on what to do, if someone has any idea what I can do to get the patch to install correctly I would appreciate it very much.

You aren't running FM while you're patching, are you?

If not, something else is accessing fm.exe and not letting it be modified. Can't imagine what.

I got it to work correctly after almost a whole day of trying. Just to be sure the version should read 8.0.1?
