Just had a loook at my early season stats and it seem my players are just far too good in front of goal. Very different to what many seem to be experiencing.

These are total shots to goals

Mc Fadden 3/12
johnson 3/5
Mc Geady 2/6
Nugent 1/4

Now if i could just find a way to create 27 chances a game i might get 8 goals a game!

the point is to those that are creating 27 shots a game that the match engine is saying you have got it wrong (i base my formations on possession and results now) - if you can get your strikers finishing clincally then you have a winning formula already.

Incidently what formation or instructions are you using that you think may be different to everyone else?

I change my formation fairly often both inside and between games depending on players used linked to condition. Focus passing down wings.
1 striker..sometimes a AM with forward arrow to next to striker. sometimes 1 wide man as Ram/LAM
sometimes both (depending on how attacking the CM are). always a flat back 4 and 1 dm no arrows for any of them.

As to whether it is a winning formula...not so sure about that. I create few chances...also i have left out the central midfielders who are on 1/10 or so cause obviously if they shooting from long range that is fair enough.

Played 3 of the big 4 got 1 draw 2 losses so not saying this is a definate recipe for success. 3rd in table after 8 games so a bit early to say.

Pardon me for pointing out the obvious, but if you had 27 shots on goal then the chances are a fair few of them would be midfielders blasting over the bar from miles out. You would expect your strikers to have a vaguely decent finishing record so I don't really see what your point is. Nugent's 25% scoring ratio is not exactly earth shattering!

You are pardoned and logically you would seem right. However if it is possible to have a tactic that creates 10-15 1v1's per game (as several claim) i don't think it is impossible to find a tactic which might create a lot of chances for strikers and wingers...maybe not 27 but even 13 for 4 goals a game would be great.

On the 1/4 = earth shattering...maybe not but my strikers previous season averaged between 1 out of 6 to 1 out of 10. They were not taking a large number of long shots either.

Anyway my original post had no real point i had just looked at my stats and was suprised and decided to share it with the world for them to do with as they wished.

P.S Shevchenko just scored in the last game to take him to 2/7 none of players mentioned in original post had a shot of any kind.
